Název anglicky / Title English: Photon interference from Gaussian states

Osnova / Outline:

We have recently developed a new formula that calculates the probability of measuring photon number states from quantum gaussian states. This gives us a new way to explore the effects of many-particle interference using linear networks. We are interested in the type of networks affects the outcome probabilities, in particular where there is constructive and destructive interference. This type of interfernce is a signature of quantum-ness and will be investigated by our experimental partners.

Suitable skills would be quantum physics, linear algebra, combinatorics, computer skills e.g. MATLAB,

The topic is one of the promising research directions being considered in the our research group lead by Prof. Igor Jex. There will be possibility for the joining student to subsequently continue with an MSc project.
