We are excited to announce that we have an open postdoc position at our Quantum dynamics, optics and information group.

Whom we are looking for

A candidate who has the sufficient background to work closely with one or more of the senior members, and at the same time bring their own character to the research conducted in the group. We also require a valid PhD degree in a relevant field by the time of the planned start, and a sufficient level in English. The preferred starting date of the position is 15 October 2018. A different starting date may be negotiated.

What do we offer

A position initially for one year, with a possible extension. A monthly gross salary of 42.000CZK (approx. 30.000CZK net) including a standard universal health insurance. The successful candidate will become a member of the Department of Physics, engaging in full-time research -- i.e. there are no teaching obligations. Conference and research visits can also be covered by the Department. The offered salary allows a comfortable, independent lifestyle in Prague.

Who we are

Our group has expertise in multiple related theoretical areas including quantum walks, iterated open quantum systems and quantum optics. Also, we work closely with an experimental group on the optical realizations of quantum walks. The working language at our group is English, as we have a couple of international members.

Where we are

Prague is a thriving beautiful historical city, from where all of Europe is easily accessible. The Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering is part of the Czech Technical University in Prague, which is of one of the two leading universities in the Czech Republic. The Faculty is strongly oriented on fundamental and applied research, and greatly stands out among the other faculties of the University in terms of scientific activities. Our offices are in the main building of the Faculty, located centrally in an attractive location of the old town of Prague.
