Practical information

Transportation from the airport: notice that the bus 119 from the airport now arrives at Nadrazi Veleslavin, not Dejvicka (the subway line got extended last year). Thus to Villa Lanna the easiest connection by public transport is bus 119 to Nadrazi Veleslavin, subway to Hradcanska, then walk or bus 131 to Sibirske namesti and walk from there (but bus saves only some 250-300 metres on foot). Don't forget to buy the tickets before boarding the bus - it is in principle possible to buy it from the driver with a surcharge but that slows down the boarding and the driver asks for Czech coins. At the airport there are public transport authority kiosks in the arrival hall after leaving the baggage claim area at Terminal 2 (to your left), at Terminal 1 in the corridor between arrivals and departures. Or use the vending machines at the bus stop, the ones at the airport should accept bank cards if working properly.

If you decide to take a taxi contact the desk of one of the two operators at the airport in the arrival hall - FIX TAXI or AAA Radiotaxi. To Villa Lanna it should cost approx. 420 CZK.

Transportation from Villa Lanna to Brehova: take subway (more frequent, 2 stations) or tram number 18 (more comfortable, 3 stops) from Hradcanska to Staromestska and walk or take tram 17 for ne stop. On Monday morning somebody will meet you at Villa Lanna at 8h50 to accompany you to the faculty building on time.

Conference dinner: Wednesday, June 1st at 19h at Villa Lanna. Accompanying persons are welcome but we need to now it in advance, at latest May 24. The price is 750 CZK per person.

Money Our legal currency is Czech crowns. Some shops and restaurants accept euros but often at a disadvantegeous rate. Some don't at all, like Villa Lanna. However, one can pay by any major credit/bank card in almost every shop, hotel and restaurant, including Villa Lanna. Preferable to exchanging money at the airport is to withdraw it from your account using automatic banking machine (CSOB, Komercni banka, Ceska sporitelna are the major banks). Non-bank ATMs can collect hidden fees. If withdrawing from ABM, it is usually better not to accept the conversion rate the Czech bank may offer you and let your own bank set the exchange rate.
