Název anglicky / Title English: Photoionization in atmospheric gases
Osnova / Outline:

Photoionization is a key process for the formation of streamer discharges, which precede the electrical breakdown in all gases. Streamer discharges initiate lightning, transient luminous events and various laboratory plasmas used for a variety of applications.

The goal of this thesis is to create a particle model for electron transport in air. Based on this model, the determination of the upper states population, that may be the source of ionizing photons, will be performed. The propagation and absorption of these photons as well as the effect of photoionization on the streamer discharge propagation in air will be studied.
