On Thursday 19. 5. 2022, Roman Lavička obtained Werner von Siemens Award for a third place in a category of the Best dissertation thesis for his work Ultra-Peripheral Collisions at ALICE. Besides the diploma, he got a bonus of 20 000 Kč, as did his supervisor prof. Jesus Guillermo Contreras Nuno from the Department of Physics.
Werner von Siemens Award is granted by the Czech Siemens to the best students, teachers and young scientists. Independent committees chose the best works, projects and scientist in eight categories from 568 applications.
